Question PT as a 4 star progressive subject?

Hiya
Ive recently achieved my 3 star APC so trying to find a progeesive subject for 4 star.

what is required to complete pt as a progressive subject at 4 star?

My det uses a gym at least twice a month which is why im thinking about pt as a progressive.

To obtain a 4 Star level in Physical Recreation you will need to gain a CCPR Community Sport Leader Award. Or you could undertake an activity in DofE.

I hope that helps.

Note that the syllabus does not say that you actually have to complete a DofE award, it just says you need to do one of the DofE approved physical activities enough to gain the points specified in the syllabus (and I imagine proper record keeping would be involved).

On a side note weve just introduced the DofE in to our Cadet Promotion criteria. No bronze DofE no promotion to Sgt.

That's a big pile of arse if you ask me. Not everyone has time to do DofE but that doesn't mean they wouldn't make a good sergeant.

Talon I totaly agree;
"That's a big pile of arse if you ask me."

I am a Sergeant, and I do not have Bronze D of E. Actually I would go as far as to say well that it is disscrimination, some people do not have the time to do D of E. I have only recently found the time to start mines (I have had it since April 09').

Please dont take it offencivly, just preparing you, some parents may wish to ahve HARSH and to the bone words, if this is the policy !

Considering that to get your Bronze DofE you only have to complete your 1* then your argument fails.
I'd say its harder to go on three camps than to get your Bronze DofE.

So you're a Sergeant, you must have done three camps, you must have done exped, which is easy to teak to suit the DofE criteria, you must have done PT, SAA can be used as a skill and I could go on about how the APC meets many of the DofE requirements.
Discrimination would be making potential Sergeants do a spelling test, completing their APC and Bronze DofE isn't.

well CNE SSM, every one is entitled to thie own opinions ! my personal opinion is that if a cadet does notwish to compltet DofE, then thier should be no obligation to do so.

I hope your not refering to my spelling as that would be discrimination. I would feel pressured into signing up for somethig I did not wish to participate in, all in the process off gaining BRONZE DofE.

This argument seems pointless, I have xpressed my views from a cadets view (I am the cadet).

Lee.

Your county should have issued you with a book, i would find out whats happened to it because when i did my bronze and silver the book was like a little tracker/diary for me.

Ask your det commander, as mine keeps the dofe books unless we sign them out.

Talking

Didn't want to add this to my earlier message as it doesn't relate.

Ive researched 4 star PT

You have to run several sessions yourself.
Also you need to score 5s in your PT tests (APC tests).

So having a sports leaders award would help with the organisation and running of PT sessions.

There's a lot of backlog on D of E within our county; to the fact that there was not a expedition all last year.
